Virtuella

Rigged 3D model. Ca 2010

Personal character modelling and rigging project

This is an old personal project that went through several stages while developing my skills in character modelling, texturing, shading and rigging. The first iteration was created entirely with polygon subdivision modelling. Later, as ZBrush became part of my pipeline, I added sculpting and displacement maps. Texturing was done mostly in Photoshop at the time. It was rigged with the 3ds Max Biped rig, but a lot of extra bones were used to help with deformations.

Software used: ZBrush, 3ds Max, Photoshop.
Rendered in: 3ds Max with Mental Ray.
Project year: 2010

Used as a basemesh for Age of Conan Princess model

The rigged Virtuella basemesh was also used as a basemesh for the Princess character I made for these Age of Conan posters while working at Funcom. The posters were a collaboration between me and a few other artists on the team. Released in May 2010. More images at this link!
